Unfortunately NH animal law treats dogs no different than a couch, they are just personal property. Pets are like our family members yet they are afforded no meaningful protection in New Hampshire. The NH Rockingham Superior Court has refused to enforce Court orders from a NH Family Court awarding someone their lawful dog forcing the person to litigate their case all over again.

To get your dog or animal back in New Hampshire one of the limited methods is to file a NH Replevin Complaint. Some are forced to do this after the police refuse to help the lawful legal owner.
